Come and learn to play the ancient strategy board game Go, the ‘Extreme Mind Sport’ said to be the most challenging game in the world. Go probably originated in China and is between 3,000 and 4,000 years old; it is regarded as the oldest board game still played to the present day.
This hands-on Introduction will be led by France Ellul.
France is a long-time member of the BGA (British Go Association) and an experienced Go player and teacher; he has taught hundreds of children and adults to play. Some of his students became dan (black belt) players whilst still at school and several became British champions in their age group.
Free refreshments will be available at the event.
Suitable for children and adult beginners as well as those with some knowledge of the game.
Some Go equipment will be available to buy on the day.
The workshop is £15 waged and £10 unwaged; children free where accompanied by a paying adult.
