Jan Gaska – A Bridge Over Time
Art Exhibition – Wednesdays 10am-4pm
‘A bridge over time’ is an exhibition covering a twenty-year period, represented by a selection of work produced over this time. It starts at the end of a printmaking residency, as I transition over the subsequent years into painting, until tragedy strikes with a studio fire in 2013. Though heartbroken, the event freed me, opening my narrowed vision to the wonder of the world. I forged my way forward, becoming what I am today.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jan Gaska is a painter and printmaker based in Lane End, South Buckinghamshire. He began drawing as a youngster and continued his interest in art throughout his life.
In 1994, he studied Fine Art BA (Hons) at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, majoring in printmaking. This was followed by an MA in Illustration & Printmaking at Bucks University College (2000–2003). He further developed his work during a two-year printmaking residency at South Hill Park Arts Centre (2004–2006), culminating in his first major solo show at the Bracknell Gallery. At the suggestion of his lecturer, Tom Hammick, he began painting in oils again.
