Social Link.
Social Link is a charity providing a range of services for adults with a learning disability or difficulty enabling them to meet new people, make friends, develop independence skills and enjoy stimulating activities.
Without this service, adults with special needs would be likely to experience greater social isolation and lack of development, marginalisation within their communities, greater dependency on ageing parents and other carers, lack of choices and poor leisure opportunities.
Social Link’s aims
Provide an arena in which club members can develop a social network and gain support from peers
Promote independent living and the basic skills associated with this
Support club members in the transition from adolescence to independent adulthood
Encourage the integration and interaction of club members within their local communities
