take part in activities, volunteer with, and support your local arts charity
The easiest way to support us is to come and enjoy our regular clubs and special events! Buy a drink, leave a small donation; some clubs (like Sunday Jam, Art Club, drama club, Skeptics, etc) suggest £2 entry.
The next step is to take part!
If you’re into music, join in with our open mic nights, Guitari Lounge (under 18’s open mic night with Bucks Music Trust), and our jam sessions for local musicians. Get on stage, get experience. And it’s not just performers; we need always need help setting up, with sound engineering, lighting etc. This is great first-hand experience for getting on in these industries.
If you’re into drama or dance, we have clubs where you can get as involved as you like too, and we encourage visual artists to exhibit their work on our walls and spaces, and externally, to join us in decorating and bringing life to our otherwise redundant spaces.
Don’t see the event for you? Then help us make it: Host your own workshop, curate an exhibition, play your songs to the public.
These collaborative spaces are for you, the communities around High Wycombe, Marlow and South Bucks, stuck in what can often appear a cultural void between London and Oxford… Well, no longer! Here is an alternative, authentic local arts scene, hiding in plain sight, with warm & welcoming people. Come on in and use the space, create and connect.
Volunteering: Join the day-to-day team
We are a registered charity and as such are mainly run by volunteers. In fact, the only paid up member of staff is our duty manager, and that’s only part time! Consequently, we would love more people to be involved. We need voluntary assistance in several areas as this is one large place and the better the team, the better the arts for everyone… Help make this place the asset to the area that it is!
Get in touch if you have experince in these fields and can offer a few hours of your time on a regular basis:
Marketing & promotions – Fundraising – Social media – Leaflet/flyer/poster delivery – Project management – Accounts & book keeping – Caretaking – Gardening – and more!
We take part in special community action projects
Many members of the Wycombe Arts Centre team work with local people on community outreach projects. With friends at many organisations, groups, charities, schools, shops etc based near and in High Wycombe, we hope to positively enhance our neighbourhoods.
Our artist-in-residence is helping supply artistic aid, inspiring workshops and even do DIY SOS type space makeovers and appreciates having a set of reliable helpers to do ‘feel-good’ environmental impact projects. From making the tea to painting a wall, someone has to do it! Get in touch if you are interested in joining in with these sessions sometime.
