Take part in activities, volunteer with, and support your local arts charity!
The easiest way to support us is to come and enjoy our regular clubs and special events! Buy a drink or leave a small donation. Some clubs (like Sunday Jam, Art Club, Drama Club, Skeptics, etc.) suggest a voluntary £2 entry. Check out our events page to learn more.
The next step is to take part!
If you’re into music, swing by our open mic nights, Guitari Lounge (an under 18s open mic night with Bucks Music Trust), and our jam sessions for local musicians. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a total newbie, it’s the perfect place to get some experience. And it’s not just performers: we always need help setting up and hosting the event, as well as with sound engineering, lighting, etc. It’s great first-hand experience and the perfect platform to launch a career in the entertainment business.
If you’re into drama or dance, we have clubs where you can get involved in putting on a show, and we encourage visual artists to exhibit their work on our walls and spaces. We also have a street gallery in Desborough Road as well as other projects around Wycombe, and we’re constantly on the lookout for people who can help us to decorate both the arts centre and our town and to bring life to otherwise redundant spaces.
Don’t see the right event for you? Then help us to host it! Run a workshop, curate an exhibition or play your songs to the public. We’re always happy to hear your suggestions for the events that you’d like to see!
These collaborative spaces are for you, the creative communities around High Wycombe, Marlow and South Bucks. We think the Wycombe area is unjustly seen as a cultural void between London and Oxford. Well, not anymore. Come along and take part in an alternative, authentic local arts scene. We’re hiding in plain sight, a community of warm and welcoming people that’s always eager to make new friends and to push new boundaries.
Come on in and use the space to create, curate and connect. We look forward to seeing you!
Join the day-to-day team. We’re a registered charity and so we’re mainly run by volunteers along with a skeleton support staff. We have no full-time employees and even our part-timers do a lot of volunteering, especially around our big events.
We’re always looking for more people to be involved, especially because as a community arts centre, we want the community to be involved and to shape the direction we take as we move into the future.
We’re looking for voluntary assistance across a range of areas, including:
Marketing and Promotions | Fundraising | Social Media | Leaflet/Flyer/Poster Delivery
Project Management | Accounts and Book Keeping | Caretaking | Gardening | More!
The better the team, the better the arts centre. If you think you can help us to spread the arts throughout High Wycombe and beyond, please do get in touch!
Community action projects
Many members of the Wycombe Arts Centre team work with local people on community outreach projects. With friends at many organisations, groups, charities, schools and shops in the local area, we hope to positively enhance our neighbourhoods.
Our artist-in-residence is helping to supply artistic aid, inspiring workshops and even carrying out DIY SOS type makeovers for local businesses. Want to help out? Dan always appreciates a set of reliable helpers for his feel-good environmental impact projects. Whether it’s making the tea or painting a wall, someone has to do it!
Get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
