An Evening of Classical Indian Music and Dance

Free pre-show workshop for evening ticket holders 
The workshop will be conducted by Soumalya Mukhopadhyay, Sanchari Roy and Samit Banik. 
~ Soumalya will demonstrate Indian slide guitar, its origin, techniques, postures, various elaboration on ragas, and their relationship with western chords. 
~ Sanchari will demonstrate Indian classical dance learn about its origin and development, and how mudras are used in classical dance. 
~ Samit will demonstrate about tabla, its origin, different finger styles and rhythmic patterns.

Lastly they will demonstrate how Indian Classical music, dance and rhythm works altogether. 

Schedule

7:30pm – Workshop (45mins)

8:45pm – Performance 1st half slide guitar solo with tabla (60mins)

10:00pm – Performance 2nd half a Bharatnatyam dance solo, a Tabla solo followed by the trio altogether (50mins)

1st interval 30mins, 2nd interval 15 mins.
