Dog ‘Ole and My Mate Dave

FREE ENTRYFriday 6th December from 8pm

Dog ‘Ole is a five-piece punk/folk collective that refuses to be confined to any musical category, proudly claiming they are #justaband. Loud, bold, and full of mischief, Dog ‘Ole delivers a mix of raucous original songs and a few unexpected covers, always guaranteeing to bring the noise.

The band is made up of Will (guitar), Kel (banjo), Tab (bass), Mandi (drums), and Trotsky (washboard), with Dexter often joining them on cajon. Between them, they boast decades of experience, with fingers in many musical pies. Their collective heritage includes stints in bands like Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs, The Devil’s Prefects, LunaBarge, Operalele, My Mate Dave, and various solo performances, alongside a range of other eclectic stage projects.

My Mate Dave is a female-fronted upcycled folk quartet, featuring banjo, fiddle, ukulele, and flute, with all four members contributing to vocal harmonies. Their music is primarily self-written, drawing influences from bluegrass and gypsy folk, and blending original compositions with reworked familiar songs, some of which are performed as a cappella pieces.

Formed in 2018, the band has built an impressive gig history, including supporting Tankus the Henge’s sold-out show at Wycombe Arts Centre, sharing the stage with Mark Chadwick in Oxford in 2024, and performing at the Where Art the Women? launch at Stroud Sub Rooms.
