Drawing Dance

Monday 13th November 7:30pm – 10pm

Art can capture movement in exciting and unexpected ways. Come and try your hand at drawing professional contemporary dancers as they perform. Open to all abilities where we provide you with a safe space to practice, try something new and develop your creative practice. The sessions are untutored but help and advice will be on hand if you need it. It will be an open and informal session where you are free to ask questions. During the session, we will spend 2 hours drawing real-life contemporary dancers as they move through the space.

The session will start at 7:30 pm but please arrive 10-15 minutes beforehand to get set up. We will start off with a warm-up for both the artists and the dancers and will move to sequences and poses increasing in length over the session, playing with shifting focus to different body parts and capturing various movements. After a refreshment break, we will have one or two longer sessions concluding with a chance to share your work and have a chat.

COMING ALONG TO THE SESSION

Each session costs £15, or £10 for students and can be booked online in advance by emailing Liezl at dewdances@gmail.com or directly buy a ticket here.
