International Women’s Day

Wycombe Arts Centre is proud to welcome the community (face-to-face and online)

to celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2022.

Women Welcome Women Worldwide (5W) will be amongst us for a special tribute to their founder and former Mayor of Wycombe Frances Alexander (Dr Hon. Univ.)

From 1.30 to 9pm there will be an exhibition in the Old Church Space, which has been specially curated for the occasion with artwork from local artists and 16 of portraits of influential women in history Judy Kemp, a commission for decorating the old Wycombe bus station in the 70s.

The day will proceed with a 2-part conference on Women in Leadership.

• Session 1 (2–3:30pm): “Leadership & Community: Think Global, Act Local”
• Session 2 (5:30–7pm): “Leadership & Change: Understanding Gender Misconceptions”

It is worth highlighting that this conference is for everyone, not just women, as it is about raising awareness to understand the differences to promote inclusion.

The day will conclude with a special Board Game session by Bucks Gaming Group who meet every Tuesday 7.30-11pm at Wycombe Arts Centre. Since it is International Women’s Day, gamers will have the pleasure of playing games designed by women, such as Wingspan and Quirkle, along with five original board games designed by with local artist Cally Trench.
