How to avoid Climate Change catastrophe

With special guest – Prof Christopher Merchant

Christopher is a Professor of Ocean and Earth Observation, University of Reading and is a key scientist at the UK’s National Centre for Earth Observation. His expertise is using satellite observations in space to quantify and understand climate change.  He will put his work in the wider context of the risks of climate change and humankind’s ability to respond. What is the latest on climate change? Do “tipping points” increase the risks we face? Where are we in action to stabilise global climate, and what more can be done?

Christopher Merchant will be asking if we can have any cause for optimism about climate change, or it it is all doom and gloom… Climate change is always a really popular topic, so it should be a lively evening!

Obviously people may have a range of views on this topic, so there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get involved in the discussion.

Everyone is welcome, and the bar of course will of course be open!
