Workshops @ The Big Art Show

Some of our exhibiting artists from The Big Art Show will be hosting workshops — from hands-on painting and 3D needle-felting to comic-making and gentle, thoughtful conversations about poetry, zines and self-expression.

Most are free or low-cost (From just £5)

Some are drop-in, some have limited spaces — but everyone’s welcome.

Musically Messy Creative Activity with Bowerdean Nursery School

FREE (drop in) • for everyone also on Sunday 22nd

Splash, drip, and dance with paint in our sensory art tent! With music and colour all around, we’ll create a joyful, messy, collaborative artwork for all ages to enjoy.

A Conversation with Too Few The Poets Press

FREE • 11am • 1 hour • age 16+ (Cafe Space)

Join a relaxed conversation about poetry, zines, and printmaking. Share ideas, ask questions, or just listen—it’s all about friendship, stories, and finding new ways to express ourselves.

One Page Horror Comic Workshop with Sammy Ward

FREE • 1pm • 2 hours • for adults (Cafe Space)

Sammy will help you spark ideas, plan your story, and start sketching your own mini horror comic. Prompts, templates, and resources provided—just bring your imagination and a bit of mischief.

Intro to 3-D felting with ArtbyLaurie

£5 • 12 pm • 30 mins • age 16+ (Theatre Space)

Learn 3D needle-felting using wool and specialist tools—materials provided. Shape a simple orb or oval and explore wool sculpture basics.

*Note: Tools are sharp — please take care.
